The Opportunity

Seasonal trend presentations are the backbone of how creative directors communicate vision to design teams, merchandisers, and retail partners. Traditionally, building these requires weeks of production — coordinating with graphic designers, iterating on layouts, and assembling static PDFs or slide decks that can feel flat compared to the richness of the trends themselves.

I saw an opportunity to rethink this entirely. What if I could use AI as a creative collaborator to build something more ambitious — an interactive, web-based trend experience — while dramatically compressing the timeline?

AI as Creative Partner

I used Claude Cowork — Anthropic's AI desktop tool — as my primary development partner. But this wasn't about handing off creative decisions to a machine. I brought 16+ years of trend forecasting expertise, brand strategy knowledge, and a clear creative vision. The AI brought the ability to rapidly prototype, code, and iterate on the technical execution.

Think of it like directing a production — I was still the creative director making every aesthetic and strategic call. The AI functioned like an incredibly fast, tireless production team that could translate my direction into polished output in real time.

The Process

1

Strategic Foundation

Started where I always start: with trend research. Drawing on market analysis, competitive shopping, and cultural signal-reading, I developed the S/S 27 direction. Three core themes emerged — Retro Revival, Earth Elements, and Artisan Craft — each with distinct color palettes, material stories, and mood directions.

Directing the AI Build

With the creative strategy defined, I began working with Claude Cowork to translate the trend direction into an interactive web experience. This meant art-directing every detail: typography, color systems, image layouts, animation timing, and the editorial rhythm of each page.

Iterative Refinement

The real power showed in the iteration speed. Where a traditional layout revision might take a day of back-and-forth, I could review, redirect, and see updated results in minutes — pushing the quality higher than I might have under normal time constraints.

Multi-Page Expansion

What started as a single trend overview grew into a full multi-page experience with dedicated sections for leather goods, neckwear, and women's accessories. Each page maintained the cohesive editorial voice while adapting to category-specific content.

The Result

The finished S/S 27 Trend Forecast is a fully interactive, multi-page web experience that showcases seasonal direction across men's and women's accessories — with curated imagery, detailed color and material narratives, and an editorial design language that reflects the sophistication of the trends themselves.

More importantly, this project demonstrates a new model for how creative directors can leverage AI tools — not to replace creative expertise, but to amplify it. The ability to go from strategic concept to polished, interactive deliverable without a traditional production pipeline opens up possibilities for faster go-to-market, richer client presentations, and more ambitious creative output.

AI doesn't replace creative vision — it removes the bottleneck between having the idea and showing the world what it looks like.
